Showers above 75mm at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces

Showery condition in the South-western part of the island is expected to be enhanced during next few days from today (03).
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 75mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere, particularly in Eastern and Uva provinces during the evening or night.
Winds will be south-westerly and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurai and Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil may be rough at times.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers may occur in the Western province and Galle, Matara, Puttalam and Batticaloa districts in the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most parts of the island during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy falls of about 50mm are likely at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
