The low pressure area over the island continues to persist and cloudy skies can be expected over most parts of the island.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Southern and Uva provinces and at several places in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern, Southern and Uva provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in these areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 1.00 pm.
