DirectPay achieves PCI DSS Compliance and hits 30 Bn rupee transaction milestone
DirectPay, a company in Sri Lanka’s digital payment sector, has reached two significant milestones. The company has achieved compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and processed 30 billion rupees in transactions since its inception in 2018. PCI DSS compliance underscores DirectPay’s commitment to top-tier security, ensuring that customer data is well-protected against breaches and fraud. This achievement involved a thorough assessment and substantial enhancements to DirectPay’s systems. Director/CEO Kanishka Weeramunda highlighted the company’s focus on data security and its future plans to introduce additional security services. The substantial transaction volume reflects the trust customers and businesses place in DirectPay, driven by its innovative and customer-centric approach. With ongoing efforts to adhere to global standards and expand its services, DirectPay is poised to continue leading Sri Lanka’s digital payment revolution and enhancing consumer confidence.
Vice President (Transnational Business) Buddhi Weerasekara said: “Our highest priority is security, as we are one of the aggregators in Sri Lanka to have obtained PCIDSS certification. We are also in the process of obtaining ISO 27001certification and will continue to adhere to global security standards to provide our customers with the best possible service.”
