The low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka is likely to develop into a low-pressure system by tomorrow (25). Therefore, the prevailing showery conditions over the island are expected to continue during the next few days. Cloudy skies can be expected over most parts of the island
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces while Showers or thundershowers will occur in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m.
Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Northern and Eastern provinces. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the other areas of the island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in these areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 1.00 pm.
Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
