Kerala cannabis with street value of Rs. 56 mn detected

The Navy retrieved about 140 kg and 40g (wet weight) of Kerala cannabis adrift in the sea, during a search operation conducted off the Kalmunai Point, Jaffna, in the early hours of Monday (17)
The Navy said some smugglers, unable to bring the consignment of Kerala cannabis to shore due to naval presence, may have abandoned the consignment of cannabis at sea. The estimated street value of the Kerala cannabis stock is over Rs. 56 million.
The stock of Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Divisional Crime Detection Bureau, in Jaffna, for legal action.
