High Court issues summons on Ravi Karunanayake and Arjun Aloysius over Monarch Residencies deal

Colombo High Court judge Adithya Patabendige, yesterday, issued summons on former Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake, and Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) Beneficiary owner Arjun Aloysius to appear before the court on Nov 18.

The summons was issued over a case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against them.

On Sept 21, the CIABOC filed a case against Karunanayake and Aloysius on charges of leasing Monarch Residencies luxury penthouse at Kollupitiya.

The penthouse was allegedly leased using the monies of PTL and Walt and Row Associates (Pvt) Ltd for Karunanayake, who served as the Finance Minister in 2016.
