Vishmi stuns Oneli to reach U18 quarter-finals

Fifteen-year-old Vishmi Serasinghe ousted top seed Oneli Perera to advance to the quarter-finals of the Under-18 girls’ singles of the ongoing Clay Court Nationals at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts on Tuesday.

Serasinghe beat Perera 6-2, 6-2 to secure her place in the quarter-final where she will meet the winner of the match between Melasha Randini and Saajida Razick.

Second seed Tania Doloswala and fourth seed Dahamna Methsandi are the others to have secured their quarter-final places with victories recorded on Tuesday.

Saajida Razick beat Nishka Vivekanandan 6-0, 6-1

Nelini Jayasuriya beat Pasadni Weerasekera 6-0, 6-0

Zeenath Zihar beat A. Vairavanathan 6-1, 6-0
