The upbeat tones and jubilant rhythm kept audience spellbound
Mahamaya Girl’s College Kandy Past Pupils’ Association (Colombo Branch) presents
The popular artistes Bathiya and Santush backed by the band Lunu Dehi held a stellar performances recently at the BMICH organised by Mahamaya Girl’s College Kandy Past Pupils’ Association (Colombo Branch).
The night started with an atmosphere of anticipation, it grew until at last, the doors of the BMICH auditorium opened to the eager crowd. They filled in, took their designated seats and then were swept away by the singing duo Bathiya and Santush.
Thier music delighted the sophisticated audience and many of them were out of thier seats singing and dancing.
Bathiya and Santush also known as BNS sang many timeless songs backed by the band Lunu Dehi. They are regardedas one of the best entertainment acts not only locally but internationally sing various genres of music . Watching the audience respond to the charm and talent of the singing duo,it was clear the old Girls of Mahamaya College Colombo branch had done a great Job! The upbeat tones and jubilant rhythm put the crowd in a musical crowd right from the start and thier excitement only intensified as the evening went on.
Bhathiya and Santosh shared the stage with entrancing Umariya, dashing Randhir giving the audience a memorable evening with thier scintillating melodies. There was no age barrier, young and the old joined in outside the stage. The best highlight of the show was giving a platform for Sri Lankan small and medium scale entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products. The Old Girl’s Association of Mahamaya Girl’s College always believed in the concept, entrepreneurial start-ups can help the small businesses in several ways,directly or indirectly. Small scale entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to showcase their products like clothing, batiks, beeralu lace, shadow work and many other craft items from all parts of Sri Lanka to sell their products. Most of them were happy to take part in this business venture,they found effective ways of meeting people,establish business contacts for thier future.
This event gave an opportunity to create an awareness and help expand thier customer base.
The other highlight of the evening was the donation of complimentary tickets by the sponsors to the children of an orphanage who had the privilege to sit in the front rows to watch the concert. A rare oportunity giving the children to witness a stellar performances. Many well-wishers locally, and from overseas made generous gestures to help the children to watch this Extravagant show What a perfect show to a perfect night! Turkish Airlines sets Guinness World records
Turkish Airlines has a 30-country lead over its closest competitor in this hard-to-break record
Turkish Airlines, which has held the title of flying to the most countries in the world since 2012, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records™ as the record holder. The national flag carrier has successfully achieved the Guinness World Records™ title for the “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline”.
The record certificate was presented at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport following Turkish Airlines’ inaugural flight to Chile. The ceremony was attended by Turkish Airlines executives and Guinness World Records™ officials.
Based on Guinness World Records™ evaluation criteria, Turkish Airlines set the record with flights to 120 countries, reflecting only the active routes of the past 12 months. Nevertheless, including temporarily suspended routes and today’s inaugural flight to Chile, Turkish Airlines’ flight network now spans 131 countries.
Commenting on the record, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ek?i stated, “We are delighted to be in Santiago, Chile, our newest route launched today, and to receive the Guinness World Records™ title for the Most Countries Flown to by an Airline. As the only airline to hold this distinction for over a decade, we proudly showcase the strength of our flight network and reinforce our mission to connect people, cultures, and destinations around the globe.”
