Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Southern provinces and in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces during the afternoon or night.
Winds will be south-westerly over sea area around the island and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (40-50) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Beruwala to Hambanthota via Galle and Matara.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Beruwala to Hambanthota via Galle and Matara will be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The South-West monsoon is gradually getting established over the island.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northern, North-western and Southern provinces and in Anuradhapura, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the above areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa district after 2.00 pm.
Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers
