Several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts

The Deep Depression was located near latitude 12.3°N and longitude 80.6°E, about 300 km North-north-east of Kankasanthurai. It is very likely to move northwards, away from the island and weaken further.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2.00 p.m.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, North central, Southern and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.

Showers will occur at times in the  Northern, North-central, Eastern and Northwestern provinces and in Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly Heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the Northern, North-central, and Northwestern provinces and in Trincomalee district.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

There is a possibility of ground frost at some places in the Nuwara-Eliya district in the early hours of the morning.

Showers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern provinces and in Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts from today evening. A few showers will occur in the Uva and Northwestern provinces. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places elsewhere during evening or night.

The prevailing dry weather conditions are expected to change from tomorrow (23). 

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, North-central and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara, Ampara and Vavuniya districts during the early hours of the morning.

There is a possibility of ground frost at some places in the Nuwara-Eliya district in the early hours of the morning.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in the most parts of the island.
