Pulindu, Nidarshana shine with centuries  

Under 19 Limited Overs Cricket round up

Pulindu Perera cracked a blistering century, his first at Under 19 level, to set the stage for Dharmaraja to record 98 runs victory over Zahira as he produced the most outstanding performance of the weekend in the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ and ‘B’ tournaments. In the match played at Lake View on Saturday, Perera hammered 137 runs in 91 balls to help his school post 267 runs. The opener put on a partnership of 146 runs for the second wicket with Nisal Abeyratne. His knock included 14 fours and eight sixes.

At Moratuwa, Isuru Nidarshana scored a vital century for Moratu Vidyalaya to record a thrilling victory over St. Sylvester’s yesterday. His knock included nine fours and four sixes.

In a Tier ‘A’ match at Asgiriya, left arm spinner Theeraka Ranathunga picked up four wickets after top scoring with 47 runs for Trinity to beat Royal. At Mount Lavinia, Gurukula triumphed over S. Thomas’ in the other Tier ‘A’ match played on Saturday. They scored five wickets win over the home teas as Janitha Shehan produced all-round performances. Shehan took three wickets before anchoring their batting with 28 runs.
