The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning during thundershowers as the atmospheric conditions are favorable further for afternoon thundershowers in most parts of the island.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning
Showers or thundershowers may occur in Northern and Eastern provinces and in Hambantota district during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur in the most parts of the island after 2.00 p.m. Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North- western provinces and in Badulla, Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm are likely elsewhere.
Winds will be North-easterly to North-westerly or variable in direction in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be (25-35) kmph in the sea areas around the island.
The sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate.
Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.
Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the Central hills, the Northern and North-central provinces and in Hambantota, Trincomalee and Puttalam districts.
