Hardcore criminals give up hunger strike

Prisons Commissioner General Thushara Upuldeniya said yesterday a group of hardcore criminals had ended their hunger strike.
Kanjipani Imran, Kosgoda Tharaka, Podi Lassi and Wele Suda were inmates who commenced the hunger strike on Sept 10.
They were demanding that more visits by their family members should be allowed among other demands. Authorities have refused to have any discussions over their demands.
