Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces during the morning.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern and Eastern provinces while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere of the island during the evening or night. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Winds will be easterly to north-easterly in the sea areas around the island.  Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph in the sea areas around the island.  Wind speed can increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Mullaittivu to Puttalam via Kankasanthurai and Mannar.

The sea areas extending from Mullaittivu to Puttalam via Kankasanthurai and Mannar can be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the islandwill be slight to moderate. Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers
