CIPM wins 3 awards at National Business Excellence Awards 2022

CIPM Sri Lanka – the Nation’s leader in human resource management won 3 awards at the prestigious Business Excellence Awards Ceremony for the year 2022 organized by the National Chamber of Commerce and held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo on 20th June 2023. CIPM was the Winner of the Business Excellence awards in the Education Sector, 1st Runner-up in the Medium-scale Enterprises category, and Merit Award winner for Capacity Building. CIPM Sri Lanka President – Ken Vijayakumar, CEO – U. A. C. Obeysekera, and Senior Manager, Quality Assurance & Compliance – Ruwani Seneviratne represented CIPM at the ceremony.
“We are delighted on being recognized for business excellence under 3 categories by the leading chamber for business and commerce in Sri Lanka. This is the highest number of awards won by CIPM in a single event. This amplifies CIPM’s standing as the leader in human resource management in the nation,” said Ken Vijayakumar – President, CIPM Sri Lanka.
The winners were selected based on the National Business Excellence Model which comprises 7 areas namely strategy and leadership, corporate governance, capacity building, performance management, local and global market reach, and CSR.
The selection process for the National Business Excellence Awards included evaluating applications based on the seven-point criteria and reviews in three stages: a desk review involving a technical panel, interviews of shortlisted candidates, and a final review of all preliminary evaluation reports and the outcome of the interviews by a panel of judges.
The National Business Excellence Awards ceremony is an annual event conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce which continues to maintain high standards thus strongly positioning itself as a dominant and progressive organization which believes in “Excellence” at all times.

Members’ Night of the Sri Lanka – Russia Business Council of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce

The Sri Lanka-Russia Business Council (SLRBC) of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) hosted a Members’ Night on March 27, at the Sophia Colombo City Hotel. The event, attended by His Excellency Levan S. Dzhagaryan, Ambassador of Russia to Sri Lanka, offered a valuable platform for business leaders, embassy officials, and Members to discuss and explore opportunities for deeper Sri Lanka-Russia collaboration, a CCC news release said.
SLRBC President, Mr. Jude Fernando, kicked off the evening with a speech highlighting the importance of strengthening international ties, which was followed by H.E. Dzhagaryan’s address on the need for continued engagement between the two countries. The event featured networking opportunities, allowing Members to connect with key stakeholders and discuss future business ventures, followed by a delightful dinner.
