Being sensitive, she needs lots of love, she says
Samadhi Wandana Kothalawala is quite a popular personality, on Social Media. She is an actress/model/hip hop dancer. She started her career, as an actress, getting involved in various dramas, while at school, and is now very much a part of stage, theatre and television. Samadhi works as a freelance model – doing fashion shows, commercials, photo shoots, etc.
And, this is how my chit-chat with Samadhi went…
1. How would you describe yourself?
I am a very sensitive person, with a kind heart, and I love the simple things in life. I am also a loving and helpful person – to my friends and relatives. And, of course, I do love animals, especially doggies.
2. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Being too sensitive. In our society, it does hurt to be too sensitive.
Good question! Believe me, sometimes I feel like taping the mouths of some of my family members as they tend to discuss family matters with the neighbours! That is the change I look for – do away with unnecessary gossip!
4. School?
I was educated, from Grade 1 to 11, at President’s College, Homagama, and for my higher education, I joined Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya, and Seethawaka Central College, Avissawella.
5. Happiest moment?
When I was, surprisingly, invited, as chief guest, for the grand opening of Apex Modelling School, recently.
6. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Living an enjoyable life, without being a disturbance to others, and doing good to others.
7. Are you religious?
I would say a definite ‘Yes’ to that question. I’m a Roman Catholic. I go regularly to Church and I have a lot of faith in Jesus. And, Jesus gives me solutions to my problems.
8. Are you superstitious?
No way.
9. Your ideal guy?
I like someone who is straightforward, understanding, and caring. As I am very sensitive, I need lots of love. When you are in the modelling and acting field, you need such a guy.
10. Which living person do you most admire?
My mom. She never allowed me to experience the loneliness, due to my father’s death, and took care of me, lovingly, and helped me come out of that trauma of losing my dad.
11. Which is your most treasured possession?
I would say my respect and dignity.
12. If you were marooned on a desert island, who would you like as your companion?
Probably a camel so that I could travel the length and breadth of the island, searching for the escape route!
13. Your most embarrassing moment?
Yes, it has happened to me a few times when I suddenly realized I have no money in my purse!
14. Done anything daring?
Walking home, along a deserted path at, midnight, without a single light to be seen!
15. Your ideal vacation?
Riverston, Matale. It’s actually a remote peak, in an undeveloped area, accessed by a winding road, nicknamed the Mini World’s End. I love that kind of atmosphere – so peaceful.

Rock, country and western, pop and Bollywood.

19. What would you like to be born as in your next life?
I don’t believe in rebirth. Moreover, one life is enough for me in this world!

I believe in the present and so I don’t make any elaborate plans, with the future in mind. Anyway, my goal is to become a model, and an actress, of international repute. Let’s hope it does become a reality.
