Ayurveda introduces two herbal concoctions to fight coronavirus

Experts at the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine had developed two herbal drugs for those infected with the COVID-19 virus and those who were at risk of contracting the virus, State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health Sisira Jayakody said yesterday.
Addressing the media after presenting samples of the herbal medicines to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, the minister said that the Department of Ayurveda and the Ayurveda Drugs Corporation had jointly introduced a drink and a powder for those infected with the COVID-19.
He said that all those medicines were manufactured using 100% local herbs and had been named as ‘’Sadanga Panaya’’ and ‘’Suwadharani Immunizing Drink’’.
The Minister said that Western medicine had not yet been able to find a cure for the COVID-19 virus.
