2022 university intake to be increased by 10,000

KANDY- Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardena on Sunday revealed that the university intake would be increased by 10,000 in 2022.

Minister Gunawardena said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had decided that more students should be entrolled for university education.

Minister Gunawardena made the announcement during a visit to the University of Peradeniya.

The Minister said that increased opportunities would also be provided for students who wished to pursue external degrees programmes.

Plans were underway to release examination  results expeditiously.

Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was received by Peradeniya Vice Chancellor Prof. M. D. Lamawansa and the university academic staff on his arrival at the campus.
