Showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. Heavy showers above 100mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Puttalam districts. Several spells of light showers will occur in Matale and Anuradhapura districts.
Strong winds of about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
Winds will be south-westerly and wind speed will be (35-45) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Chilaw to Hambantota via Colombo and up to (60-65) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Mannar to Chilaw via Puttalam and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Mannar to Chilaw via Puttalam and from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be very rough at times. The sea areas off the coasts extending from Chilaw to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle and from Trincomalee to Mannar via Mullaitivu and Kankasanthurai can be rough at times.
Waves heights may increase (about 2.0–2.5 m) in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota (this is not for land area). Naval and fishing communities are requested to be attentive in this regard.
