DIMO shines at CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2021

Published

Emerging as the Platinum Award Winner, DIMO also bagged 04 awards in total at the recently held CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2021. With the aim of recognising the organisations that have demonstrated excellence in Integrated Reporting consistently over a period of seven years, the Platinum Award was a new addition this year. DIMO was the first company in Sri Lanka to be recognised with this award.

‘Best Integrated Report – Diversified Holdings Sector’ and ‘Best Concise Integrated Report’ were among the awards received by DIMO while the company was also recognized amongst the ‘Five Excellent Integrated Reports’ in Sri Lanka. Additionally, Suresh Gooneratne – Director, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of DIMO, was honoured with the CMA CFO Excellence Award.

Ranjith Pandithage, Chairman & Managing Director of DIMO, said, “These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone in the DIMO tribe. They have been the driving force that has helped the company overcome many challenges and stay a step above the rest in the Integrated Reporting sphere. We hope to gain more success in the future, while we stand by our vision of fuelling the dreams and aspirations of the communities we serve.”

Since its first Integrated Report in 2011 DIMO’s journey of reporting has been one of many learnings. DIMO primarily focussed on the completeness of the report in terms of its content and what was reported, on the first stage of reporting while the second phase was focussed on value creation. This was the most important phase as DIMO was able to articulate its complex business operations, interdependencies and interconnections of capital in a simple and an efficient manner.

2019 saw the third phase when DIMO decided to raise the standard of its integrated report to be on par with internationally acclaimed integrated reports. At present, the focus of this phase is to report DIMO’s value creation story in a manner that showcases how the organization is being managed, how integrated thinking is practiced and how the substance of the integrated reporting framework is kept in mind. In light of this new development, DIMO is attempting to demonstrate DIMO’s value creation story with less silos and more integration.

The COVID-19 pandemic was a game changer for organisations all over the world. However, DIMO was able to adapt to the new normal and overcome every challenge it faced during these trying times. DIMO has continuously reached the pinnacle of the integrated reporting sphere, which is a direct result of the company’s ability to adapt business practices and persevere through the toughest conditions.
