Wimalaweera rebukes development assistants

Wimalaweera Dissanayaka, SLPP MP for Ampara District, who does not mince his words rebuked the development assistants for their alleged anti-Gotabaya sentiments when they were gathered at Ampara DS Senanayake National School to collect their permanent letters of appointment (29). The previous regime established the Multi- Purpose Development Task Force and recruited these development assistants on a temporary basis.

“I see among you the people who posted ‘Gota go home’ on Facebook. I see among you the people who attacked the residence of Weerasinghe MP and mine. I see among you the people who set fire to the house of the Ampara Urban Council Chairman. Shall I point at you? You came along the roads we built: You used the electricity we gave you: You ate from the salary we paid you: You drank from drinking water facility we gave you. What sort of people are you? I have two degrees and degrees are useless. None of you can write a letter but on Facebook you all are great pundits, he told them bluntly. The function was held under the chair of Eastern Province Governor Senthil Thondaman.

Wimalaweera is a double degree holder. He holds a B.A. (Hon) from the University of Colombo and a M.Sc. in Education from the University of Peradeniya.
