Train derails injuring 16 in Trincomalee
At least 16 were injured when a train derailed in Agbopura Railway Station in Trincomalee.The victims including nine women, five men and two boys were admitted to the Kantala Hospital.
The Railway Department said three carriages had derailed and two railway department employees were among the injured.There were 29 derailments of passenger trains in 2020, 34 in 2021 and 45 derailments by November 2022, according to the Railway Department.
