TN: ‘3500 houses are under construction for Lankan refugees’

Gingee KS Mastan, Tamil Nadu State Minister of Minority Welfare and Expatriate Tamil Welfare Department,  inspected construction of 400 houses for Sri Lankan Tamils ??at Bhavanisagar,  at a cost of INR 20 crores, Indian media reports said.

It was announced in the Assembly that 7000 houses will be built at a cost of INRs 3017 crores for Lankan refugees in TN. In the first phase, 3500 houses across are under construction. Circulars on overseas

employment has been sent to the district employment  offices of all districts. It mentions the security features of the country to which job seekers are going abroad. Overseas Manpower Corporation will  arrange secure employment opportunities.

Therefore, it is advised to go through the corporation and not to be deceived by fake agents who  claim to provide employment abroad. 500 nurses have been trained through this institution and steps are being taken to send them to Britain.

The training for nurses is provided free of charge. He said that legal action has been taken against fake agents who deceive people by claiming to get jobs abroad. So, far, two fake agents have been arrested under the Goondas Act, he said.
