This is what Christmas is all about…
Seeduwa Methodist Primary is a small school, situated in the Negombo educational zone. There are about 100 students, of all faiths, studying in Grade 1 to Grade 5. Ten differently abled children, with special needs, are being taken care of by a special education unit.
The Covid has created a lot of problems for these children, and the school is in need of a Library. Their only sound system, with a laptop, and some other valuables, were stolen during the time the school was closed, due to the pandemic.
In order to uplift the spirit of the children, and make them happy, this festive season, a Christmas Carol event has been organised for today (December 23) and they will also be given two valuable gifts…on this special day.
Popular actress Damayanthi Fonseka, and film director Prasanna Vithanage, will be donating library books, as well as funds to develop the school Library.
The members of MCG (Music Clubs and Gangs of ‘80s and ‘90s) will be donating a valuable sound system, with mics and mic stands.
This programme has been organised by the school’s English teacher, Manori Fonseka.
