Sunquick National Beach Volleyball Championship from May 19
Sunquick, the thirst-quenching drink loved by millions across the world including more than 100 countries. Sunquick, has once again joined hands with the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF) to organize the annual Sunquick National Beach Volleyball Championship 2023 demonstrating the brand’s commitment to promoting and nourishing the national sport of Sri Lanka.
The Tournament will be Inaugurated and conducted at Beach Park, Kudapaduwa, Negombo from May 19 to 21. The matches will be played under four categories namely, open, Under-22, under-19, and under-16 for both men and women. Winners of each category will be awarded medals, certificates, and attractive cash prizes.
The winner of the open categories will receive a cash prize of 50,000 while second, third, and fourth places will receive Rs. 30,000, Rs. 25,000, and Rs. 15,000 respectively. The winners of the first three places in the under-22 and under-19 categories will receive Rs. 35,000, Rs. 25,000, and Rs.15,000 while the first-place winners of the under-19 categories will receive 25,000, second place will receive Rs. 15,000 and the third place will receive Rs.10,000. The tournament will be held on a knockout basis thereupon eight teams will be selected, after which the double-bracket elimination system begins. The rules and regulations will be in accordance with Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation.
Initiated in 2006, Sunquick National Beach Volleyball Tournament is being revived by the brand after a short interlude. In the interim, Sunquick has been one of the main sponsors of the Mercantile Volleyball Tournament since 2012.

LPL 2026 Opening Game between Jaffna and Galle
The inaugural game of the Lanka Premier League 2026 will be played between the Jaffna and Galle teams, who emerged as the Champions and Runners-up respectively in the 2024 season.
The opening game is scheduled to be played on 17th July at the SSC Grounds, commencing at 7.30 p.m.
Prior to the start of the tournament opener, a spectacular opening ceremony will be held at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.
The Lanka Premier League 2026 will be played from 17th July to 8th August across four venues: SSC, Colombo; RDICS, Dambulla; PICS, Pallekele; and RPICS, Colombo.
The tournament is conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), the owner of the LPL, in partnership with The IPG Group, the event rights holder.
