Sri Lanka Under-19 will meet their England counterparts in a five-match Youth ODI series starting on November 30. That will be the second Youth ODI series for Sri Lanka Under 19 since the last Youth World Cup.

Despite lack of competition exposure during a better part of the last one and half years Sri Lanka Under 19 captained by St. Joseph’s College spinner Dunith Wellalage beat Bangladesh Under 19 5-0 in their first series played last month.

The team had just over three weeks of training in a biosecure bubble under Avishka Gunawardena’s tutelage when they met Bangladesh.

“The England Team will arrive in Sri Lanka on the 22nd November 2021, and will play five ODIs during the tour, which will be conducted under a Bio Bubble environment,” Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement yesterday.

The Sri Lanka Under-19 team management will use the series to tighten loose ends and establish a solid team for the upcoming Under 19 Asia Cup and the Youth World Cup which will be played early in 2022.
