SLPP dissidents backing President Wickremesinghe form new alliance

A new political alliance named the ‘Podujana Eksath Nidahas Peramuna’ was launched yesterday by dissident SLPP MPS supporting President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the 2024 presidential election.

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was appointed the Chairman of the alliance and Minister Ramesh Pathirana its Secretary.
