Several spells of showers will occur in the Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. A few showers may occur in the Western and North-western provinces. Dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.

Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the Central hills, North-central and North-western provinces and in Monaragala, Hambantota, Trincomalee and Mannar districts

Under the influence of the system, cloudy skies and showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces, and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places. elsewhere of the island after 1.00 p.m.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
