A few showers may occur in the coastal areas of Southern and Western provinces during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the Island during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Eastern, Central, and North-central provinces.
Winds will be South-westerly in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar.
The sea areas around the island can be slight to moderate but strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Badulla, Galle and Matara districts during the early hours of the morning.
A few showers may occur in the Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa, Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Galle, Matara, Rathnapura and Kaluthara districts after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds of about 40 kmph can be expected at times over the Eastern slopes of the central hills, the Northern province and in Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
