Showers may occur in the Southern province during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the Island during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-western and North-central provinces.
Winds will be Southerly or variable in direction in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph.
The sea areas around the island can be slight to moderate but strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
