Showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts while showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Batticaloa, Ampara districts during the evening or night.
Winds will be south-westerly and speed will be (30-40) kmph. Fairly strong winds about (40-45) kmph can be expected at times in the western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee and Hambantota districts. Wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai and in the sea areas extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai, and the sea areas extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be rough at times.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The South-West monsoon is gradually getting established over the island.
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa Northern and North-western provinces and in Anuradhapura, Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the above areas. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 pm.
Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
