Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Southern provinces.
Several spells of showers will occur in Northern provinces and at several places elsewhere over the island particularly during the afternoon or night.
Strong winds about (40-45) kmph can be expected at times over western and southern coastal areas and along the western slopes of the central hills.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Hambanthota via Galle and Matara will be fairly rough and rough at times. The other sea areas around the island will be moderate.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Anuradhapura, Kurunegala and Badulla districts during the early hours of the morning
Showers are likely at some places in the Southern province during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most parts of the island after 1.00 pm.
Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva and North-Central provinces and in Kurunegala district.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at some places in the Northern, North-central, North-western, Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Eastern provinces and in Monaragala district during the day time.
The Heat Index Forecast is calculated by using relative humidity and maximum temperature and this is the condition that is felt on your body. This is not the forecast of maximum temperature. It is generated by the Department of Meteorology for the next day period and prepared by using global numerical weather prediction model data.

Effect of the heat index on human body is mentioned in the above table and it is prepared on the advice of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services.
ACTION REQUIRED
Job sites: Stay hydrated and takes breaks in the shade as often as possible.
Indoors: Check up on the elderly and the sick.
Vehicles: Never leave children unattended.
Outdoors: Limit strenuous outdoor activities, find shade and stay hydrated.
Dress: Wear lightweight and white or light-colored clothing.

Mainly fair weather will prevail over the other parts of the island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
