Showers in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and Galle, Matara, Ampara and Batticaloa districts

A few showers will occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts while showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night. Mainly fair weather will continue elsewhere over the Island.
Winds will be south-westerly and speed will be (25-30) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to (45-50) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil, and from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Monaragala, Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m. Dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.
Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the Central hills, Northern, North-central and Central provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
