Several spells of showers will occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts while showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces during the afternoon or night.
Winds will be South-westerly in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (45-50) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambanthota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas around the island can be slight to moderate while the sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambanthota to Pottuvil can be fairly rough at times. Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. A few showers may occur in Anuradhapura and Hambantota districts.
Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, the Northern and North-central provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts. Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over other areas of island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
