Misty condition can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces in the morning.
Showers will occur at times in Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in other provinces of the island after 1.00 p.m. Fairly heavy showers above 75mm are likely at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Winds will be North-easterly in direction and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph.
The sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate but temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Therefore, general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by heavy rain, strong winds and lightning during thundershowers
