Showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya,Matale, Galle, Matara and Hambantota districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kurunegala, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Strong winds of about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
Winds will be westerly to south-westerly and wind speed will be (35-45) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Trincomalee to Kankasanthurai via Mullaitivu and Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle and up to (60-70) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil. can be very rough at times while the sea areas off the coasts extending from Trincomalee to Kankasanthurai via Mullaitivu and Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle can be rough at times.
Waves heights may increase (about 2.0–2.5 m) in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota (this is not for land area). Naval and fishing communities are requested to be attentive in this regard.

Showers may occur in the Southern province and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts during the morning while heavy showers about 100 mm can be expected at some places in Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kurunegala, Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts.Showers or thundershowers will occur over most places of the Island during the afternoon or night.
Winds will be North-westerly or Westerly in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Hambanthota via Colombo and Matara. Wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Winds will be variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Hambanthota via Colombo and Matara can be fairly rough at times. Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
