South-West monsoon conditions are gradually getting established over the island.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, North-central and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Puttalam, Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara district during the evening or night.

Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the central hills and in Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers

Due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, cloudy skies are expected over the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces, with showers or thundershowers occurring at times.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in other parts of the Island after 1.00 p.m.

Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-central and North-western provinces.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in the North-central, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and North-western provinces.  A few showers will occur in the Western province and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
