Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.  Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts during the evening or night.

Strong winds about (35-45) kmph can be expected at times over the  Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.

Winds will be south-westerly in direction in the sea areas and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Mannar to Galle via Puttalam and Colombo and up to (60-65) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Matara and Hambantota.

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Matara and Hambantota will be rough or very rough at times while the sea areas off the coasts extending from Mannar to Galle via Puttalam and Colombo will be fairly rough at times.

Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Mullaitivu, Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.

Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the Central hills, the North-central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Monaragala, Puttalam, Hambantota, Trincomalee and Mannar districts.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
