Saudi Arabia celebrates Founding Day with pride and vision for the future
On the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s 2025 Founding Day, Ambassador Khalid Hamoud Alkahtani expressed the Kingdom’s pride in its history and future aspirations. Celebrated annually on February 22, Founding Day marks the founding of Saudi Arabia’s first state in 1727, followed by key milestones in 1824, 1902, and the unification of the Kingdom in 1932 under King Abdulaziz. The day celebrates a legacy of unity, justice, and progress.
Ambassador Alkahtani praised the Kingdom’s growth under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, highlighting Vision 2030’s focus on sustainable development and economic diversification. He also extended congratulations to the Saudi leadership and expressed gratitude to Sri Lanka for its longstanding friendship with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral relations for the benefit of both nations.
“Founding Day is not just a day in our national calendar, but rather a story of a rich cultural heritage spanning more than three centuries, and a story of struggle led by loyal men who worked to build a strong and solid nation,” the Ambassador said in the message.
