Sri Lanka Magic Circle recently presented another magic contest for youngsters below 18 years for the ‘Young Magician 2020’ for the coveted Donovan Andree Challenge Trophy, held annually since 2002, on September 27.

The contestants provided classy, mind boggling magic in an entertaining manner with a house full of fellow members together with guests.

Master Santhosh Madhavan of Stafford International School was adjudged the winner of the ‘Young Magician’ competition. He demonstrated his skills smoothly with dexterity in a calm and entertaining manner.

It is encouraging to note that parents now encourage their young children to take up to the fascinating art of magical entertainment, while also following up on their concentration on education. It is a myth that school children concentrate on their hobbies and neglect studies!

Since 1922, many youngsters have joined the Sri Lanka Magic Circle and have achieved a high professional standard of the performing art of magic in later years. They have been able to earn a side income as well.

The 98-year-old Sri Lanka Magic Circle trains all its non award winners at their second Sunday training sessions to groom them in the performing art of magic and gradually develop them professionally by climbing the ladder of success by participating at the Young, Amateur, Magician of the Year, Master Magician and finally to the national status. (Open to any Sri Lankan magician).

Parents, school children and adults interested in joining the Sri Lanka Magic Circle can email magicana@sltnet.lk or call 0716495190 for information.
