Sajith complains his parliamentary privileges have been violated by SLC
Opposition and SJB leader Sajith Premadasa yesterday told Parliament that the Sri Lanka Cricket has violated his parliamentary privileges by issuing a statement denying what he had stated to the House.
Premadasa said that the SLC in a release had stated that he had acted without knowing facts and misinterpreted facts pertaining to SLC.
The Opposition Leader said that he had spoken with evidence in hand and stood by what he had told Parliament.
The SLC had acted in violation of the country’s Constitution and betrayed the national interests, he charged.
Premadasa said that SLC led by its chairman had called on the International Cricket Council to impose a suspension on Sri Lanka cricket. They had made this request through letters dated Nov 6, 7 and 9, the Opposition Leader said, tabling the copies of the letters.
