Royal International School Kurunegala clinches 2024 Annual Sports Meet
The Royal International School’s Annual Sports Meet 2024 was held recently at the school ground in Kurunegala. The sports meet saw fierce competition among the four houses of the school, Darwin, Einstein, Lincoln, and Shakespeare, with each vying for the coveted championship title. In a closely contested battle, the Einstein House emerged victorious with 1,128 points, securing the championship with a remarkable performance. Shakespeare, Lincoln and Darwin Houses secured 1,104, 986 and 910 points, respectively.
Susantha Fernando who is renowned for his exceptional contributions as a coach in various international sporting events, including the Olympic Games, World Games, and Asian Games graced the event. Being the Assistant Director of Education at Wattegama Zonal Education Department Sports and Physical Education, he is widely acclaimed as the coach of Asian Games gold medalist, Tharushi Karunarathna.
