Prime Minister congratulates President Rajapaksa

Gotabaya Rajapaksa was elected the President in November, 2019 with a huge majority of the people who wanted the country to achieve new heights as a nation. The national security and the economy of the country had collapsed due to reckless actions of the then government and therefore, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was entrusted with the task of overcoming the challenges and move the country in the right direction in line with the “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour” Policy Statement.

Once the security of the country is assured, the President initiated the development of the economy by consolidation of the available resources, reducing waste and furnishing his dauntless spirit to his team in every step in the process.

The people knew the country’s needs, they felt the value of the leader’s passionate mission; and they believed in that. The youth themselves started cultivating barren paddy fields.

Still this was no ordinary task. The world economy went on the edge due to Covid-19 pandemic and the country faced an uphill battle.

Nevertheless, fighting a multi-front battle, the President led a successful vaccination programme saving countless lives in the process.

The Prosperity Vision Policy Statement aims to fulfil the hopes of the future youth of the country even if today’s choices are difficult in the short run. Organic farming, a green economy and renewable energy are just the beginning of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s such revolutionary changes.

Undoubtedly, the last two years of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s tenure as President was challenging. It is an indisputable fact that the global Covid-19 pandemic and the collapsed economy was a major obstacle in fulfilling all the aspirations of the young generation.

However, the vision of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to take the country forward in the accurate path, through development, giving priority to the safety of the lives of the people. We know that we have made a progression.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will surely achieve the revolutionary change demanded by the people in the “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour” policy statement before the end of his first term.

We shall give strength and courage to His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa to finish what he has started.
