President urges Muslims not to allow emotions to get the better of them

President Ranil Wickremesinghe urged the Muslims not to indulge in activities that would be harmful to their community.Speaking at a ceremony to mark the centenary on Thursday of the Muslim scholarly clergy group, All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama at the BMICH, the President expressed concern about some children discussing negative assessment on the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act (MMDA), citing that it should be discussed by adults.
He said that all religions and communities have issues, thus he intends to establish Social Justice Corners to discuss standardised issues.President said that he spoke to the Tamil community on reconciliation recently, thus, similar approach would take place in other communities.
He also said that he was pleased to witness Feriel Ashraff honoured with a plaque for her cooperation.The Philatelic Bureau of the Department of Post yesterday released a stamp and a first day cover to commemorate the centenary of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU).
