President inaugurates Sri Lanka Economic Summit today

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to inaugurate the Sri Lanka Economic Summit, organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, today (28), to a sold-out audience at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, a media release issued by CCC said.

President Dissanayake is scheduled to participate in a Fireside Chat on the Government’s vision for sustainable economic progress, with Deputy Vice Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber Bingumal Thewarathanthri. Day 2 of the Summit, on 29th January, too, will open with a Fireside Chat with Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Chief Advisor to the President, on the Digital Economy.

This year’s Summit, which has drawn a record participation and an unprecedented audience of business leaders, policymakers, academics and senior corporate representation, is conducted under the theme Shaping Sri Lanka’s Future: Transformational Growth with Sound Economic Policies, focusing on the country’s economic trajectory. The Ceylon Chamber’s leadership, including Chairman Duminda Hulangamuwa and Vice Chairman Krishan Balendra, will also be in attendance, with Duminda Hulangamuwa delivering the Opening Remarks at the inauguration.

Standard Chartered Bank is the Platinum sponsor of the event, while Unilever Sri Lanka and Deloitte Sri Lanka are the Gold sponsors. The Asian Development Bank acts as the Knowledge Partner, VISA as the Strategic Partner, Kerry Logistics Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. is the Logistics Partner, and South Asia Gateway Terminals is the Session sponsor. The Summit’s inauguration will be livestreamed on the Ceylon Chamber’s Facebook Page. Tune in at 6 pm today to follow one of the most significant economic discussions of this year, the media release said.
