Patali claims 09 Feb. outage caused by tripping of Victoria
Eksath Janaraja Peramuna leader Patali Champika Ranawaka yesterday (01) alleged that the real, but suppressed, reason for the countrywide power outage on February was a defect at the Victoria hydro power station.
Addressing the media in Colombo, the former Power Minister said: “The CEB blamed it on an emergency at Panadura; the Minister found fault with a monkey, but initially they blamed the Lakwijaya coal-fired power station for the crisis.
“But, a comprehensive report has revealed that Lakwijaya tripped after Victoria.”
