Man injured in Minuwangoda shooting linked to Ganemulle Sanjeewa case

A 36-year-old man was injured in a shooting incident at Minuwangoda yesterday.

Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manatunga that the shooting occurred near the Paththanduwana Junction. According to him, two individuals on a motorcycle carried out the attack.

The injured person, identified as Kotagama Mudiyanselage Lahiru Randeer, a resident of Minuwangoda, was hospitalized following the incident. He was initially admitted to the Minuwangoda Hospital but was later transferred to the Gampaha District General Hospital for further treatment, according to hospital sources.

Police sources said that the injured man is a school friend of Mandinu Pathamasiri Perera, also known as Kehel Baddara Pathme, who is believed to have masterminded the killing of Ganemulle Sanjeewa from Italy. Sanjeewa was shot dead last week inside Magistrate Court No. 5 in Aluthkade.
