Lankan High Commission in Delhi opens ‘High Commissioners’ Gallery’
The Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi opened a ‘High Commissioners’ Gallery’ dedicated to all the High Commissioners of Sri Lanka to India, in its chancery building on Thursday(15).
The High Commissioners’ Gallery features photographs of all the Representatives and High Commissioners of Sri Lanka to India who have served since 1942, commencing from Sir. D.B. Jayatilaka. A corridor in the chancery building, which has hitherto been underutilised has been converted in to the Gallery.
The Gallery was declared open at a simple ceremony by three of the longest serving members of the local staff of the High Commission: Deepak Nathani, Renu Sharma and Pradeep Das, in the presence of the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India Milinda Moragoda.This space will be used as a reception area and a meeting room.
