Korean Ambassador emphasises importance of fostering investment friendly environment
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, Miyon Lee, emphasised the importance of fostering a cohesive investment-friendly environment to drive regional prosperity and unity. Addressing the 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka–Korea Business Council (SLKBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), held recently in Colombo, Ambassador Lee commended the Council’s efforts in strengthening ties between the business communities of both nations, the CCC said in a release yesterday.
The Ambassador highlighted Korea’s pivotal role in Sri Lanka’s economic recovery, citing employment opportunities for Sri Lankan workers, remittance contributions, development assistance, and collaborative projects as key avenues of support. She also applauded SLKBC for organising initiatives that deepen business partnerships and foster mutual growth.
At the AGM, Asitha Martis, from Aitken Spence Shipping Ltd., was re-elected as the President of the Council for the 2024/2025 term. In his address, Martis outlined the Council’s significant achievements over the past year.
