Kiran clinches SSC Open Under 18 boys singles title

Number one seed Kiran Viravanathan clinched the Under 18 boys’ singles title, while Nishka Vivekanandan and Dinara de Silva reached the final of the corresponding girls’ event of the SSC Open Tennis Tournament continued in Colombo on Friday.
Viravanathan beat Thilina Dissanayake 6-0, 6-2 in the final to clinch the title. He reached the final after ousting Vichinthya Nilaweera in the semi-final.
Dinara de Silva secured her place in the final when she edged out Tuvini de Alwis 6-3, 6-3 in the semis.
Vivekanandan came back from a set down to beat Tania Doloswala 0-6, 6-2, 10-6.
